Michael Schütz plays pop, rock and film music

When you think of organ music, you naturally think of Johann Sebastian Bach first. Berlin church musician Michael Schütz is breaking new ground and bringing pop, rock and film music to the Petrikirche on Saturday, June 14 at 7 pm. "Basically, it's more than just a concert for me," says Schütz, "I also want to show the audience how music relates to their own lives and enable an inner connection to the church in the context of the church space and the sound of the organ."

Michael Schütz creates a captivating atmosphere through his unique interpretations on the organ. Familiar melodies evoke memories, past feelings are brought back to life - the church becomes a space for the individual soul. "All You Need Is Love" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water" invite you to sing along inwardly. "Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton refers to the hope of human existence, while the soundscape of "Star Wars" brings heroes like Luke Skywalker back to life. Abba, Deep Purple, Titanic: epochal highlights on the organ. The program is suitable for young and old, organ enthusiasts and those interested in culture, Christians and people from outside the church.
