The world of music is changing. Traditional media is becoming increasingly less important. Algorithms are the new gatekeepers and playlist curators ultimately decide what is heard and what is not. With the event series Beats & Business - On My Way Up , we want to find out how to deal creatively with this new reality - instead of burying our heads in the sand and nostalgically complaining that everything was better in the past. At the same time, at Superbude Altona, we are putting the spotlight on people and projects that are breaking new ground in the music industry with innovative ideas.
In the first edition, artist, presenter and renowned music journalist Tamara Güçlü talks to Martin Hommel, project manager of the Ein Song Reicht newsletter - a project that has gained over 15,000 subscribers within a year, delivers great new music directly to the mailboxes of music fans every day and has thus proven that simple ideas can be used to find a constructive way of dealing with this paradigm shift.
Martin Hommel will explain why the seemingly old-fashioned newsletter tool is surprisingly valuable in this new era of music distribution, why einsongreicht works so incredibly well - and what we can all learn from it. After the talk, it's time for drinks and relaxed beats provided by jtothek on the roof terrace of the Superbude to continue the exchange.
