Pool party with punk, crossover and hardcore - the BECKENRAND Rebellion Festival celebrates its premiere in Lünen

On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Cappenberger See outdoor pool will be transformed into an extraordinary concert location from 6 p.m.: at the BECKENRAND Rebellion Festival, Lünen music legends will meet fresh regional acts for the first time - loud, raw and straight to the heart. In the open air, the audience can expect an energetic line-up with a real rebellion factor, with driving riffs, powerful drums and an uncompromising sound that will have everyone nodding their heads, singing along and joining in.

Musically, an exciting mix of genres is on offer - from crossover and punk rock to hardcore and reggae. The line-up includes SHIRKER from Werne with a versatile sound of crossover and reggae, THEY PROMISED ME PONIES, an explosive old-school hardcore band from Dortmund and Lünen, TONY GORILLA from Dortmund, who will heat things up with a good dose of punk rock and hardcore, and UWE AGAINST THE MACHINE from Paderborn, who will bring the audience to the boil with energetic 90s crossover and punk cover versions.

The BECKENRAND Rebellion Festival is an event organized by Stage Q Solution, who are also organizing the pop party "We love Lünen" on the same weekend, in cooperation with the cultural office of the city of Lünen. Together they set a musical exclamation mark for the region and offer local acts in particular a stage with a special flair.

UWE AGAINST THE MACHINE Exceptional artist "Uwe" presents Uwe Against The Machine, a rock and punk show created especially for the open-air summer with cover songs from the 90s, together with long-time companions and musicians from the Paderborn area who have been on the stages of the hardcore, punk, rock and metal scene for decades.

The musicians have already played well over 1,000 concerts not only in Germany, but also beyond the country's borders. Their credo: "We don't take ourselves too seriously - but we take our audience all the more seriously and give it our all!"
The setlist includes a journey through the punk and rock of the 90s, whereby the eleven "Uwes" will really get their audience in the mood and motivate them to join in.

For a long time, TONY GORILLA were the hot insider tip when it came to hardcore from Germany. In 2022, the Dortmund-based band formed with a new singer in order to get back into the scene with their individual, unmistakable style. Their new hardcore punk set is more uncompromising than ever before. The first songs have already been released on the usual streaming platforms and you can get ready for some fireworks live.

THEY PROMISED ME PONIES is a hardcore band named after a quote from a cartoon series and affectionately called "Ponies" by their friends and fans. Can this be something? It can!!! PMA is deep in the boys' DNA. Founded in 2015 and based in the greater Dortmund area, They Promised Me Ponies offer more than just the seemingly harmless name. Every single member of the band has been active in the punk and hardcore scene for over 20 years and has been or is active in a wide variety of bands (Disobey, Moshcircus, Meals on Wheels, Disparity). It is precisely these experiences and times that make up the band's sound. NYHC stomper, skate punk anthems and trashcore planks are all in the mix here. Lyrically, the songs deal critically with the unpleasant aspects of life and the world. The daily shitlist is mercilessly worked through here. After numerous gigs and the demo EP released in 2016, the first studio album "Tales from the past" followed at the end of 2020. They Promise Me Ponies are Stefan (drums), Mad X (guitar), Grecore (guitar), Rizzo (bass) and Schimek (vocals).

SHIRKER from Werne a.d. Lippe have been up to mischief since 1998. Starting out as a three-piece punk band, they quickly experimented with different musical styles and band members. A demo and three CDs have been released since then. From the first line of lyrics to the finished CD, everything has always been produced in-house. Today, Shirker mix elements of punk, hardcore and reggae.
