Music of the future: although the 2nd Symphony is generally regarded as the conclusion of Beethoven's first period, which was still influenced by Mozart and Haydn, it heralds a new era in the irrepressible verve and seething nervousness of its outer movements, the martial sounds of its military fanfares and the tremendous climaxes. It is no coincidence that Beethoven placed this work in the context of two other revolutionary works at its premiere in 1803: the 3rd Piano Concerto and the oratorio "Christ on the Mount of Olives". High pathos, the proclamation of lofty ideals of humanity and a sound world permeated by military sounds are common to all three works.

With "BEEEEEEEEEthoven!", all nine Beethoven symphonies can be experienced as a cycle over two seasons: In the 2024/25 season there will be the first four symphonies, in the following season the other four, and as a finale the 9th Symphony in the Philharmonic Concert.
