'It is an insane project that only those who really have something to say about these pieces can dare to undertake', wrote the SZ after the MKO and its longstanding artistic partner Alexander Lonquich performed all five of Beethoven's piano concertos one after the other in the Prinzregententheater in 2019. The complete freedom of playing from the moment and the unusual transparency and immediacy of the interpretation also caused storms of applause in the hall. Following the successful CD recording of the concertos on ECM Records, this unforgettable Beethoven event can be experienced live once again with the same line-up in the 2025/26 anniversary season - this time at the Isarphilharmonie.
