The film is based on Emmanuel's statement at a police station, which he secretly documents with his cell phone. #The Deposition# formulates an insistent critique of the French church, the judiciary and Emmanuel's parents - in their handling of the sexualized violence he experienced at the hands of a priest when he was 13 years old, thereby creating an encouraging counter-public.
