The Lower Saxony Police Big Band will be stopping off in Braunschweig again in 2024.
They will be playing on the Friendship Stage under the motto "Sport connects - Police moves". The proceeds from this event will benefit the "Sport inklusiv" project of Lebenshilfe Braunschweig.
The event begins on August 23, 2024, at 7 p.m. (admission from 6 p.m.).
The Police Big Band will delight guests on this summer evening with swing, pop and soul music.
The vocal accompanist for this concert will be Kiel-born Bendix Amonat, who is an integral part of the local music scene as a singer, vocal coach, producer and songwriter.
In addition to his work in the Bendix Voice Academy, Bendix sings with the Lower Saxony Police Orchestra, the Lower Saxony Police Big Band, produces music for the "Ehrlich Brothers" as well as for various artists and works with many other artists such as "Mousse T".
Together with Stavros Ioannou he forms the producer duo "Stav & Ben". Together with "Ferry Ultra", they regularly release their own songs that are heard all over the world.
The "Sport inklusiv" project from Braunschweig Lebenshilfe aims to address an important topic - inclusion in sport. Because the figures make you sit up and take notice: Only around eight per cent of all people with intellectual disabilities are organized in sports clubs. In contrast, the proportion of people without disabilities is between 35 and 40 percent.
In the medium term, more unified teams are to be founded in Braunschweig. For example, a very successful beach volleyball team has already been founded in cooperation with Lebenshilfe Braunschweig and the University Sports Club (USC) Braunschweig.
The concert will take place under the patronage of the Chief of Police of the Braunschweig Police Headquarters, Michael Pientka, in cooperation with the Braunschweig Police Sports Club. Together, they are taking an important step towards greater inclusion, especially in sport.
