Two young, award-winning musicians with broad musical horizons: Benjamin Günst, part of the Beethovenfest Talents, presents himself with the Croatian pianist Lovre Marušić, who won second prize in the last Bonn Telekom Beethoven Competition. From Mozart to Stravinsky, they demonstrate stylistic diversity. The four works are characterized by forward momentum and restlessness - taken to extremes in the "Perpetuum Mobile" finale of Maurice Ravel's sonata. Robert Schumann's passionate "Great Sonata in D minor" also charges forward with romantic furor. Igor Stravinsky arranged his Divertimento from his neoclassical ballet of the same name - the lacy dance echoes in the darting notes.
