At the beginning of April, a long-awaited wish of ours will come true. Finally the legendary duo EXTRAWELT will be our guests with their LIVE set, something we have been waiting for a long time.

Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have been active in electronic music for twenty years and have established themselves as key figures in the scene. Their journey began as DJs before they opened a new musical chapter in 2005 under the name Extrawelt. Their first release, "Soopertrack", was discovered by James Holden and released on his renowned label Border Community. This marked the beginning of a remarkable career characterized by successful albums, remixes and live shows.

Their debut album "Schone Neue Extrawelt" (2008) brought them great recognition. It was voted "Best Album 2008" by Groove Magazine, and Raveline also gave them awards for "Best Album" and "Best Live Act" in the same year. The success of the album laid the foundation for their fame and worldwide success. Her second album "In Aufruhr" followed in 2011, which was also released on Sven Väth's Cocoon Recordings and was just as acclaimed as the first.

Extrawelt's live act has always been one of their trademarks. Faze Magazine readers voted them "Best Live Act" in 2014, which was no surprise as their live shows have been thrilling and impressing audiences worldwide for over a decade. For the duo, every performance is an opportunity to showcase their sound in a unique flow of spontaneity and technique. And with equipment that many musicians only use in the studio.

2017 brought a renewal in their career: In addition to a new studio and a fresh live setup, their third album "Fear of an Extra Planet" was released. It featured a focused sound with ten concise tracks and found its place in the scene. Later, at the end of 2018, their fourth album "Unknown" followed, pushing into new musical territory with a bold, electro-oriented direction.

EXTRAWELT remains a duo that continues to shape the techno scene through their innovative approach to electronic music and live performances, while living the connection between the past and future of music.

Daniel Krau, co-founder of the Moyn Moyn Festival and the Ketoga series, will be providing support on the night and we are delighted to finally have him as our guest. In addition, c-arla from the bTbT collective and Moloco from Zwischenmiete will be at the start. The program is rounded off by the BergWacht residents, Fips, J.Althaus, Catom, Liho and Max Keck.
