Berlinale HUB75: Directors’ Exchange: Body Horror

The genre mash-up Honey Bunch by directing duo Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli will be presented as a Late-Night Berlinale Special. Emilie Blichfeldt's The Ugly Stepsister is screening in the Panorama and deals with fairy tales and ideals of beauty from an unusual perspective. The plots are very different, but both films are dedicated to body horror and tackle the genre with feminism and comedy, provocation and acumen. HUB75 invites Madeleine Sims-Fewer, Dusty Mancinelli and Emilie Blichfeldt to a discussion. Jessica Kiang, member of the Berlinale selection committee, will moderate.

Honey Bunch is a genre-defying Late-Night Berlinale Special by co-directors Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli. And in Panorama, The Ugly Stepsister by Emilie Blichfeldt is a fresh take on fairy tales and beauty standards. These two films have very different stories but both have body horror in their DNA and brilliantly revive, provoke and subvert the genre with feminism, comedy and sharp storytelling. HUB75 is holding this conversation with filmmakers Madeleine Sims-Fewer, Dusty Mancinelli and Emilie Blichfeldt, hosted by Berlinale selection committee member Jessica Kiang.
