50 years of the whore movement - An evening on the topic of sexual assistance
D 2020 | Director: Hendrik Stöhle | 28 min.
Documentary film
To mark the 50th anniversary of Whores' Day, we are dedicating a special cinema evening to an often overlooked but important aspect of sex work: sexual assistance.
The sensitive short documentary "Berühr' mich" by Hendrik Ströhle (*1997) will be shown. The film follows Christine, a woman with a physical disability who lived with a feeling of dissatisfaction for a long time - even though she has achieved more than many others. But one central need was missing: lived sexuality. When she met sex worker Thomas, her life changed. Her meetings with him are among the most beautiful experiences she has ever had. A touching relationship develops between the two of them between the poles of closeness, love and professional service.
Director Hendrik Ströhle became aware of the topic through a newspaper article and wanted to find out more about sexual assistance - above all to give people with disabilities a perspective at eye level. In calm images, interviews and observational scenes, the film approaches its protagonists with respect and restraint and opens up a space for intimate, honest insights.
Following the screening, we invite you to a discussion with
- Lola Anders (BesD Professional Association for Sex Work)
- Daniela Perzi (sexual counselor - health practitioner for sexual culture)
An evening that is moving, thought-provoking - and makes the diversity of sexuality and self-determination visible.
