Beryllium: Umbra

In the organizer's words:

Umbra is the ultimate shadow - it is where the deepest darkness reigns. In this darkness, the imagination is activated, the brain creates images that are normally drowned out by the world that surrounds us. This is what the music of the ensemble Beryllium, founded by Michal Gorczynski (clarinets, electronics) and Andrzej Izdebski (electronics, guitars), is all about. The largely improvised compositions are not an attempt to find objective beauty, but to discover what is hidden in the listener's imagination. They are the shadow in which one finds coded images and emotions in the form of atonal sound experiments. Video art: Dawid Grzelak. The musicians are experienced composers of theater and film music, but also active creators of the alternative and avant-garde scene in Poland since the 1990s.
