Steinway artist Chris Hopkins, the German-American born in Princeton/New Jersey, winner of numerous awards, is one of the world's busiest artists with his swinging, melodic style and over 5000 live concerts worldwide. For over three decades now, he has been showing how to successfully live his dream and bring together and inspire countless people and fans with his music. His stylish concerts are always spiced up with an entertaining presentation and a healthy dose of humor.

Equally adept on piano and saxophone, Chris Hopkins impresses with a wealth of musical ideas and immense drive. His roots lie in the swinging jazz of the 1920s to 1940s - he has long since transformed the music of his early heroes such as Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Erroll Garner and many others into his own unmistakable musical language. Alongside jazz stars such as Scott Hamilton, Butch Miles, Hazy Osterwald, Till Brönner, Götz Alsmann, Helge Schneider and many others, he has played countless concerts and festivals from America to Australia, from Zingst to Zurich. Previous venues include the Kaufmann Concert Hall in New York City, the Toppan Hall in Tokyo, the KKL Luzern, the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Elbphilharmonie, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Ascona Jazz Festival on Lake Maggiore and the Waiheke Island of Jazz Festival in New Zealand.

He has been involved in over 50 CD productions, many of which have received coveted awards such as the "Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik" or the "Prix de l'Academie du Jazz, Paris". In addition, Chris Hopkins was honored as "Keeper of the Flame" for his services to classical jazz in Europe and recently received the coveted "Jazz-Pott Award" as "Best Progressive Artist" at the Grillo-Theater in Essen in a row with Paul Kuhn and many others.

In addition to his extensive concert activities, he is also active as a jazz lecturer at the Cologne University of Music and Dance and as an ambassador for the "Ruhr Area Children's Center Foundation".
