Best of Klassik: Le sacre du printemps

In the concerts of the "Best of Classical Music" series, you will hear the most famous works of classical music. A presentation at the beginning briefly introduces you to the work and provides listening instructions. The entire work is then played. Afterwards, we will be happy to welcome you at our bar on the 1st floor when our presenter meets the conductor for a discussion with the artist. This is not strictly a musicological discussion - we would rather take you into the personal world of our respective guests.

About the concert:

Twenty woodwinds, eight horns, five trumpets, three trombones, two bass tubas, five timpani and a large percussion section - that alone would be enough to fill an entire soccer stadium with sound! In Stravinsky's "Sacre du printemps", the strings are added to the mix. But not to make noise, but to play one of the most famous ballet scores of the 20th century. At the premiere in 1913, the audience was outraged and left the hall with boos. A scandal at the time, the piece is now an integral part of the concert hall.
