When a thing called the "poetry slam" first saw the light of day at the GreenMill Jazz Club in Chicago in 1986, no one could have imagined that it would go on to triumph around the globe. "The points are not the point, the point is poetry" was the motto from then on - the modern poetry competition was born. Socially critical, funny, poetic, emotional - poetry slam has retained its enormous range and, despite several attempts, simply cannot be pigeonholed.
ReimGold, the most charming poetry slam in Cologne, has been inviting poets to the cathedral city every month since 2005. Together with COMEDIA, they bring a hand-picked selection of the best of their craft to the big stage and invite you to the "Best of Poetry Slam".
