Welcome to your head.

Best of Poetry Slam is when poets and poets, storytellers and proletarians, the brave and the wild, the nerds and the quiet ones meet and compete against each other using only words and gestures. The prize? Nothing less than adrenaline and applause, euphoria, an audience that decides whether this is nonsense or intoxication, in short: whether this text is perhaps the best story of all time. An audience that is you.

Poetry slam is above all the slammers of this republic. They fill halls, sometimes entire stadiums. They are no longer a niche, they have long been the phenomenon they have always been. They juggle with wild ideas, their rhythm a beat of sentences, their stories a firework display of vocabulary, they race through the ear canals and set heads alight, each of them racing at 180 on the thought highway. And we bring them to you, the best of them on the stage of the Volkstheater Rostock.

Five top poets will compete against each other in the Best of Poetry Slam, hosted by the most popular slam presenters and presented by Kampf der Künste. These five want nothing less than your head, your ears, your favor. They meet in the toughest competition of the night, the best of the best against the best of the best in a brilliant battle of poets.

And so what remains behind every good competition - it's never just about winning, it's about the moment, about a feeling that unites every slam: to be a part of the magic that comes from stories, to become a part of the wave that this evening carries within itself. This is true for every poet, for every Best of Poetry Slam, for everyone who is a part of it. In the end: it's about nothing less than words and madness, about poetry and genius and every text is a world that is created in your head.
