The wildest side of literature
The Best of Poetry Slam regularly presents magical shows with 100% live literature from some of the best slam poets in Germany: entertaining, amusing and always straight to the heart! That's a promise. And always under a different motto.
25.09.2025 # ALLSTARS
We only invite our absolute favorite poets to this edition! Even if they (wrongly) haven't yet been awarded a star on the Karl-Marx-Straße Walk of Fame, they are all stars. Throughout the year, they tour and perform on the smallest and largest stages, delighting fans of spoken word everywhere. Whether in a corner pub or the Elbphilharmonie, these poets live for poetry. They are undisputedly the best spoken word poets in Germany and on this evening they shine and sparkle on our stage: just for you!
05.11.2025 # BERLINBERLINBERLIN
On this evening we'll be blasting texts from and about the capital! Often sung about and described, Berlin remains a poetic hotspot of inspiration and input. Contemporary metropolitan poetry in a class of its own is created here. Raw, direct and unadornedly charming: typically Berlin. Between the subway and tourist crowds, Plattenbau poetry and Prenzlauer Berg prose, M41 and club queues, raves and extravagance: everything that makes our city so loveable and hateable is on display here. It doesn't get any more Berlin than this.
05.02.2026 # LOVE?! OH NO.
Get on the emotional rollercoaster, but buckle up please: There's laughter, suffering, love - and sometimes everything at the same time. Our poets dedicate themselves to the most beautiful chaos in the world: love. Between ghosting and grand gestures, between late-night romance and club nights without a guaranteed kiss, between partner search and partner look: nothing is left out here. Ready for heart palpitations, crying fits and maybe a little hope? Amy was right: Love is a losing game - but what a game.
08.03.2026 # FLINTA*
For the fourth time, the stage belongs solely to FLINTA* people on Feminist Fight Day. Germany's FLINTA* poets are loud and honest, critical and moving and simply incredibly humorous and entertaining. The poets from all over Germany who will be on stage at Heimathafen on March 8 will make their voices heard, shape and change the slam scene and inspire the audience. It will be lyrical, it will be combative, it will be colorful and varied. Anything can and will happen. Be part of it!
29.04.2026 # TIMES CHANGE YOU
Times change - whether you like it or not. Permanent crises and permanent smiles, TikTok trends and midlife crises, climate collapse and career coaching: nothing stays the same. And those who stand still will be overrun. Our poets put this madness into words. Straight from life between WTF and ETF, between class reunions and class struggle, between burnout and balcony philosophy: an evening for everyone who is a bit lost at the moment - and/or finally ready for the next chapter.
Ken Yamamoto is a slam poet, presenter and member of the legendary Berlin reading stage "Spree vom Weizen". He is a true Neuköllner, so he moved here and assimilated all along the line. As salon-capable as hung halloumi, with the exuberant charm of a used car dealer, he entertainingly leads through these evenings full of linguistic wit and depth.
