Sometimes all it takes is a spark to light a fire and sometimes all it takes is a single word to expand entire horizons. That's exactly what the Best of Poetry Slam is all about when Germany's best spoken word artists take to the stage at Kampnagel and set off a veritable firework display in the minds of the audience!

Sometimes a quiet crackle of poetry, sometimes a brute inferno of wordplay, the elements of literature come together here. Fast-paced love poetry, dreamy storytelling, punchline after punchline, double rhyme after double rhyme - at the Best of Poetry Slam, the greatest poets of our time compete for the favor of those who really matter: the audience.

So let's not let ourselves be sprinkled, but instead join in the excitement, take in all the impulses, look to the future with hope and a snarky smile, laugh in the face of fear and banish cynicism. Perhaps a single word will be enough to get the ball rolling - if not, then at least a referendum.

Kampf der Künste and Hamburger Zukunftsentscheid have joined forces and are preparing for the referendum in October with this show. We are celebrating a best of poetry slam, as entertaining and intelligent as you know and love it, and will also be giving a musical guest and an expert voice on climate policy a chance to have their say. All profits from the event will go to the Hamburg Future Decision.
