"Billy Rubyn" + "Halftime"

Heavy Blues Rock

8 pm

At the second attempt it finally worked out! BILLY RUBYN from our beautiful Hanseatic city is coming to me.
Free admission !!!

BUT WHO EXACTLY IS BILLY RUBYN?
Billy Rubyn is a heavy blues rock band. It was founded in 2012 by Christos Zarampoukas (guitar, vocals) (at that time still written Bilirubin). With the change of name to Billy Rubyn, Dennis Rihm (drums, percussion) and Sebastian Berensen (bass) joined and together they form the sound.

THE SOUND:
The vocals are in English, the music sounds like dust and desert, sun and rain, love and sorrow. Sometimes slow, sometimes not. Sometimes heavy, sometimes light. With elements of blues, garage rock, folk, southern. Analog rather than digital. Rather raw than polished. Clear harmonies instead of pleasing vocals. Repetitive guitar patterns and erupting riffs. A moving, growling bass as the foundation and link between rhythm and melody. It is caught and accompanied by pushing, rolling drums. Realized with a reduced song structure instead of classic songwriting. Relaxed and cool, instead of demanding and bulky.
That's Billy Rubyn.

"Halftime" - that rocks!
When you hear Halftime for the first time, you ask yourself - what is it? Blues rock? Progressive rock? Hard rock? Funk rock? Is it still set in the 1970s or has it already grown out of the alternative sound? The truth is: the songs on "Halftime" are a little bit of everything, and the quintet themselves find it somewhat difficult to define their music. But one thing is clear from the very first moment, from the very first notes: "Halftime" rock! But in a very melodic way.
Halftime was founded in April 2019 as part of a band camp at the Friese youth center in Bremen. "Our chemistry was right straight away," says bassist Simon Hussong, who, together with his brother Constantin (drums), met guitarist Florian Schaub and singer Jette Goltz - keyboardist Jan Moog joined later. Particularly noteworthy: "Halftime" quickly built up a live repertoire of around 90 minutes, consisting exclusively of songs they had written themselves.
No wonder that many people, including those responsible for the Treffen Junge Musikszene and the Bremen School Rock Festival, became aware of the young band. The five have already been able to gain a lot of stage experience, with established venues and festivals such as the "Lagerhaus", the "Meisenfrei" and the "Breminale" booking the quintet. But this is just the beginning: "We still have a lot planned and we know what we can do," says Florian Schaub confidently. And Simon Hussong adds: "Let's see what else happens!"

Have fun, your Betty !!!
