Between Books. Vom Blatt zum Buch

Workshop on the topic of artists' books

Thursday, 30.01.2025, 6-9 pm, at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf
Saturday, 01.02.2025, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the Mergemeier bookbindery

In this workshop, participants have the opportunity to realize a new, small book project together under professional guidance. New ideas for a book project will be prioritized.
Starting with a short, inspiring visit to the current exhibition at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, the group will create their own work in the studio with artist Manuel Boden and prepare individual content for the second session.
The second workshop day will take place at the Mergemeier bookbindery. Here the prepared sheets will be bound into a book using Japanese stitching. Finally, a title is embossed onto the cover by hand. At the end, all participants will hold a self-designed work in their hands.
Participants are invited to bring a selection of their own photos, pictures, drawings and (handwritten) texts in analog form (not digital) and for further processing (max. A4).
