With her installation "Beyond Blooming", Wuppertal artist Franziska Hartmann addresses the transformation of the plant world in the context of species extinction and climate change. Instead of showing images of destruction, she works with the aesthetic means of fictional narratives and creates utopian, hopeful visions of a symbiosis of species - beyond traditional development concepts. In the glass house of the Wuppertal Botanical Gardens - a place where weather extremes can be experienced directly - "Beyond Blooming" creates a multi-sensory experience of moving textiles inspired by natural forms. The exhibition builds on the work "Flora in Flux" (2024) and invites visitors to experience growth and change in a playful way.
