On Friday, September 26, 2025, INSWINGTIEF, the award-winning quartet from the city and district of Würzburg, will present its 5th studio album entitled "Beyond Swing" in the Spitalkirche Ochsenfurt.

Once again, Thomas Buffy (violin), Stefan Degner (electric jazz guitar), Sabrina Damiani (double bass) and Felix Leitner (gypsy guitar) have arranged a concert program consisting exclusively of their own compositions with great attention to detail and worked on its live presentation. As the title suggests, "Beyond Swing" offers a whole host of other facets to discover in addition to the undisputed major musical influences, swing and jazz manouche, reflecting the four musicians' wealth of ideas and love of experimentation.

This time the band, which has never been too particular about genre boundaries anyway, dares to make further excursions into tango, folk and klezmer, quotes from French musette waltzes, funk, bossa nova and calypso and celebrates solemn ballads with beautiful melodies.

As varied and colorful as "Beyond Swing" may be, the four musicians from Lower Franconia by no means try to deny their musical core competence. Swing permeates the catchy themes, tasteful arrangements and virtuoso solos as a matter of course, giving the Inswingtief sound a tongue-in-cheek lightness that is impossible to resist.

With a great deal of joy in filigree and immense musical flair, Inswingtief succeeds in this fusion with ease and also impresses the critics. In 2020, the band was voted the best musical discovery of the year by listeners of the Bavarian radio station BR2. The studio album "homecookin'" was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award and took the band to Calvados (FR) as cultural ambassadors for Lower Franconia. The quartet was also awarded the Cultural Medal of the City of Würzburg for its many years of voluntary work as part of the Würzburg Gypsy Jazz Jam Session in autumn 2024. www.inswingtief.de
