In case of rain, the event will take place in the theater hall of the Neues Schauspiel.

Antonia and Margherita decide to go proletarian shopping due to the constantly rising food prices, i.e. to pay for half of the goods and let the other half go with them. When they get home, they have to make the goods disappear because Antonia's husband Giovanni, a left-wing law and order unionist, would rather starve than steal a single grain of rice.

The women transport the hot goods under their skirts and pretend to be pregnant. In the meantime, the police have also become aware of the operation and search all the apartments in the neighborhood. They notice that the entire neighborhood suddenly seems to be pregnant. In their need to keep the food secret from the law enforcement officers and make it disappear from the husbands, they decide to beg St. Eulalia for help.

A fast-paced farce critical of capitalism by Nobel Prize winner Dario Fo about exploding inflation rates, economic crises and neoliberal austerity policies as a measure to depoliticize the working class. The play is a highly comical mixture of socialist utopia and Italian folk theater with music, fake bellies, real moustaches, academic proletarians and proletarian shoppers.
