BI-UP! - From Jahnplatz to Sparrenburg Castle
Open-air exhibition by the Bielefeld Music and Art School

We cordially invite you to the open-air exhibition "BI-UP!" by the art section of the Bielefeld Music and Art School. Over 200 participants - from 3 to 83 years old - have created works under the artistic direction of our lecturers that reinterpret the ascent to Sparrenburg Castle from Jahnplatz as a path full of fantasy, history and creativity. "BI-UP!" is an exhibition in public space that brings art to life - as a walk, discovery tour and inspiration.

Look forward to:

• Paintings on the themes of "sky" and "water" on the Alcina clock at Jahnplatz
• Large-format billboards along the path from MuKu up to Sparrenburg Castle, showing artistic perspectives on clouds, vastness and freedom
• A 30-metre-long Rapunzel plait impressively lowered from the castle tower into the inner courtyard for the opening ceremony
• Portraits of historical figures, jugglers and still lifes in the style of the 15th century - painted on large wooden panels, installed on the grounds of Sparrenburg Castle
• "Binocular views" of Bielefeld's present, depicted on round wooden panels, with motifs such as the Kunsthalle, the Oetkerhalle or café scenes, installed on the bars of the castle wall
• Paintings with mythical creatures, dragons and imaginative castle scenes that bring history and fairy tales to life, scattered around the inner courtyard of Sparrenburg Castle
