Our cooking workshop at MARKK focuses on bibimbap - one of the most famous dishes in Korean cuisine! Together we will prepare the colorful rice bowl with fresh vegetables, egg and spicy gochujang paste. There will be exciting insights into Korean food culture and lots of tips for cooking at home. The workshop is supported by Welcome Dinner Hamburg. The initiative has been bringing people with and without refugee experience together over a meal since 2015 - for more exchange, encounters and lived hospitality.
The workshop is offered by Sung-Hee Kim.
Sung-Hee's short bio:
Born and raised in Hamburg, Sung-Hee was introduced to Korean cuisine by her parents. In 1975, her parents opened the first Korean restaurant in northern Germany: Arang. Today, Sung-Hee Kim's food start-up also bears this name, which she founded three years ago with the aim of producing authentic Korean products in Germany and making them accessible.
For the past year, Sung Hee has been offering regular vegan Korean cooking classes in Hamburg, inspiring people with the flavors and stories of her culinary homeland.
She was an active member of the Welcome Dinner Hamburg from 2016 to 2021. She is all the more pleased to be organizing this event together with the association and MARKK.
