A boy in a sailor suit, a lady with a beret and oversized puffed sleeves, a rabbi with an open prayer book. The Jewish Museum Munich is showing portraits from the 19th and early 20th centuries in its "Picture Stories" exhibition and asks: Who had themselves portrayed by whom? How did they want to be seen? Who did they want to portray?
