BIRDLAND BIGBAND *SPECIAL* "MUSIC OF KENNY CLARKE/FRANCY BOLAND"

The Birdland Bigband is Hamburg's established jazz ensemble and the first resident big band of one of the oldest jazz clubs in the Hanseatic city. Featuring top-class members of the Hamburg jazz scene, this 17-piece band will bring the swing and big band era to life by bringing the all too rarely played works of the great big band composers Thad Jones, Duke Ellington and Sammy Nestico to the Birdland stage - with respect for tradition and the courage to bring in their own musical influences.
