Dortmund's Domicil, a traditional jazz club that is also open to experimental music and sonic innovations, is hosting a special selection of artists today. As Pod Blotz, US-American Suzy Poling lives out her urge for experimental mischief, whether through minimal wave, post-rock or space opera. The multidimensional artist relies on dim narratives, which she allows to develop in an extravagant way. Panic Girl, on the other hand, incorporates chance and randomized processes into her music production, creating works in the tradition of stochastics and aleatorics. Her music is characterized by a cinematic expanse that creates a cinematic atmosphere through sophisticated sound design. The British artist Kaffe Matthews is considered a pioneer of interactive sound art and combines live sampling with generative systems. Her works react not only to the space, but also to the social interactions of the audience, making her works a dynamic, site-specific experience. The evening promises to be an exciting journey through the combination of genre boundaries, random sound processes and the interactive creation of sound spaces that transcend the boundaries of traditional musical forms.
