BLECHSCHLOSSNÄCHTE 2025: UR

In the organizer's words:

Ur is also the name of the aurochs, the extinct wild cattle known for its powerful appearance and indomitable nature. And somehow this archaic creature is the perfect image to describe the sound of the band of the same name. Like him, the four Leipzig-based band practice setting dark, dragging, atmospheric soundscapes to music, whose home is the acoustic spectrum of low frequencies and high amplitudes. Archetypal images of wilderness and forgotten, extinct or endangered animals serve as inspiration for the often slowly swelling soundscapes waiting to erupt. These motifs are expressed using stylistic devices from doom, psychedelic and post-rock. UR have been active since 2012 and have played concerts with Omega Massif, Year Of No Light, Conan, Celeste, Dopethrone, Mouth of the Architect and others. Their flying visit as part of the Distilled Orchestra at the Distilled & Bottled Fest 2017 remains unforgettable, when they shook the foundation walls of the scheune with their piece "grey wanderer" with sheer force and great instrumentation together with their collective colleagues from Grimeny and Excessive Visage - a musical moment for eternity! Things have been a little quieter for the quartet for a few years now, but they will be playing a short tour again in the fall of 2025. Fans of Isis, Cult Of Luna or Neurosis will get their money's worth here!
