Memories of four Jewish children from Czernowitz before and during the Second World War: happy days, shattered dreams and survival in hell. One of them is Herbert Rubinstein, now a member of the Jewish community in Düsseldorf.

"Blindekuh mit dem Tod" is not a story about the Shoah, but one about stolen childhoods. The children's perspective is in the foreground, some things appear to them as a game, which is bitter, life-threatening seriousness. When we turn our gaze from the past to the present, when we think of the stolen childhoods of young people in many places around the world, we realize how topical these stories are. In 2023, the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial recommended the graphic novel "Blindekuh mit dem Tod" as a lighthouse project for educational remembrance work in schools.

The premiere and a first school performance will take place in the Kleines Haus. All further performances can be seen in the Junges Schauspiel at Münsterstraße 446. Each performance will be followed by a discussion with experts and contemporary witnesses. An exhibition in the foyer shows documents from the lives of those persecuted. The performance lasts a total of two hours, including the talkback.
