Rejoice for a night of Concrete Funk: Luke Slater joins us for one of his rare appearances under his L.B. Dub Corp pseudonym, where the British dance music luminary travels from deep house to dub to techno and beyond, alongside the early Detroit-indebted, yet contemporary Techno of Buenos Aires native Sol Ortega. Our resident Stenny thrills with a highly imaginative take on electronic dance music-grounded in the manifold grooves and textures of bass music and IDM-that truly seizes the expressive potential of club sound.

British cornerstone Luke Slater is an artist with many intriguing facets: from the wealth of work under his given name to the techno-leaning Planetary Assault Systems and the house-oriented L.B. Dub Corp alias (London Bridge Dub Cooperation). Having started his career with early house music, this alias sees him explore the intersection of Chicago-oriented grooves and dub. The Argentinian Sol Ortega has been around for a few years, but it's still fair to call her one of the circuit's current shooting stars: the considerate selector thrills with contemporary techno that's deeply rooted in Detroit's timeless house and techno traditions-with all their groove and funk. It comes as no surprise, then, that Robert Hood marked her personal dance music epiphany. Her classic-indebted approach makes her a formidable match on the program alongside L.B. Dub Corp.

Our resident and Ilian Tape affiliate completes tonight's programme-but don't be fooled into thinking he's a mere addition: this dazzling selector excites us gig after gig with his refreshing take on effervescent grooves, drawing on the rhythmic wealth of bass, breaks and IDM to fuel his tantalizing techno excursions.
