BOCHUMER KÜNSTLER*INNEN 2024

In the organizer's words:

The exhibition of Bochum artists, which takes place every three years, has a long tradition at the Kunstmuseum Bochum. In order to do justice to the diversity of artistic creation and the city's diverse networks, this year it is being given a new direction, accompanied by Cologne-based curator Meryem Erkuş. As part of a public call for entries, works on the theme of communication and networking were sought. The theme is intended to stimulate dialog and arouse new interest in each other; the works should open something up instead of closing it down. A diverse jury selected 35 entries from a total of 213 submissions. The exhibition brings together installations, sculptures, paintings, performances, videos and a varied supporting program throughout the first floor. The selected works deal with themes such as self-discovery, temporality and transcendence between worlds.
