Kiosk pop

A kiosk somewhere in Cologne: Alex, Bastl, Marie and Fe are standing at a high table in front of the small store. Equipped with a cold drink of their choice, the friends share their thoughts on one-way streets or how they are overwhelmed by the mean and, at the same time, rippingly beautiful big city. Four internet acquaintances became friends and soon a band, as unpredictable and honest as an evening at the kiosk. In the guise of retro charm à la (N)NDW, the 80s and indie pop, BOELL address the questions of a young generation in their German-language songs. Or as you could say: The four of them make kiosk pop.

MILEN

Alternative pop

MILEN is unconventional alternative pop with influences from soul, hip-hop and jazz. With her lyrical and socially critical lyrics, MILEN has already released two albums and an EP. In 2010, she won the special prize for the best Hermann Hesse setting at Udo Lindenberg's Panic Prize. Since then, the 28-year-old has already won many prizes and has performed on stage with Udo Lindenberg and Klaus Doldinger on several occasions. In 2018, she performed with her band at the International Youth Music Festival in Chengdu, China. Milen's lyrics are of the highest quality," says Udo Lindenberg about the artist. Her songs prove that things can be different in the German-language music scene: special, niche, courageous.

GROOVE GARDENERS

A small garden has sprung up in Cologne: Head-nodding grooves and colorful melodies grow here. Crossed with soul harmonies, hip-hop beats and personal lyrics, the result is a rich mixture that is just waiting to be harvested. Pia Niepmann (g,v), Toni Schelenz (p,v), Sebastian Lohmar (b) and Matthias Schons (dr) founded the groove gardeners, always on the lookout for new sounds, ideas and impulses to plant in their music. A garden has been created in Cologne and we want it to continue to grow.
