BOHEI x Konzert | Die Fetten Boxen

The fat boxes <3
That's our name! Our grammar school offers band projects for every year group in collaboration with the open Jazz Haus school. One of them is us: Die fetten Boxen. Most of us are in Year 8, except for Leni. Most of us are at the Elisabeth-von-Thüringen Gymnasium, except for Piet, who is at the Schiller Gymnasium.

The name came about when the band met for the first time in Year 5 in 2021. Lorenz (vocals and keyboard), Maya (bass and cello) and Lucas (guitar) were there from the start. Piet (drums), Leni (vocals and piano) and Ella (guitar) joined later. The band was accompanied from the beginning by "band teacher" Julian Adler.

The fat boxes combine different styles of music. They compose their own ballads as well as rock songs. With one of them - "Klimaterroristen" - they made it into the top 20 in the "One World Song Contest" 2023, and their song was released on the "One World Album Volume 5".

Their view of the world is often critical and sometimes ironic. For example, "Klimaterroristen" is about the causes and consequences of climate change. Her ballad "Nie wieder" deals with the topic of exclusion and the derogatory thoughts of a pupil whose class includes a refugee girl. There is also room for her thoughts.

However, Die fetten Boxen also like to cover songs and have already built up an extensive repertoire.
