A tribute to the Berlin nightlife of the roaring twenties
With live band, burlesque beauty dance, conférenicer, introductory dance course, casino, absinthe bar, vendor's tray mistress, photo studio and many other amusements and divertissements. It sparkles and glitters in the Bohème Sauvage, it sizzles and shakes! Immerse yourself in Berlin's dazzling nightlife of the 1920s!
For over 19 years, Else Edelstahl, the grande dame of the 1920s, has regularly invited bohemians and bon vivants from all over the world to dance on the volcano! Her illustrious parties with up to 1000 guests have been held regularly in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne ever since.
The establishment, Heimathafen Neukölln, has everything you need for a wild and wicked night: a beautiful ballroom with Art Nouveau elements and a balcony from 1874, a large stage with a red velvet curtain and a foyer with a casino, photo studio and other amusements.
Our emcee, who seems to have fallen out of time, takes the audience into the night and guides them through the brilliant stage program. The stage program features a live band, dance shows and burlesque beauty dance. Record entertainers FELIX DE VENOSTA and DR. HIRSCHFELD provide the appropriate floor sweeps. Dance music from the 20s to 40s, hot jazz, Charleston, tango, klezmer, Russian folk and swing will be performed.
Guests receive 50 million Reichsmark at the entrance. These can be gambled away in the casino area at the roulette table, blackjack or poker. If you're lucky, you can get involved in a rendez-vous with the Green Fairy at the absinthe bar for 150 million Reichsmarks. Cigars, cigarette holders, useful accessories or even rubber goods for the pleasure afterwards and much more are available from the vendor's tray lady.
The dress code should be strictly observed: 1910 to 1930, diva, dandy, gigolo, bohemian. If you have any difficulties, please contact our in-house costume and accessory rental Le Boudoir in Berlin Friedrichshain for advice.
Please note the photography ban: if you are caught wearing one of these new-fangled trouser pocket outfits, you could be fined 50 million Reichsmarks. Suitable for international audiences aged 18 to 80.
