Böhler & Orendt: DOOM SNOOZERS - Vorletzte Träume

With DOOM SNOOZERS - Penultimate Dreams, Böhler & Orendt are developing a darkly comic science fiction speculation for the Spreepark Art Space. The expansive installation interweaves existing and new works to create an audio-visual scenario of walk-in dream worlds in which time and space, real and fictional events merge.

Visitors themselves are at the center of the exhibition production. As "dreamers", they follow a course of various dystopian visions. To this end, the fictional technology DreamKeep activates the artworks assembled in the egg house and adds a suggestive audio track to each of them.

As the voice and face of DreamKeep, the virtual dormouse Jill accompanies visitors through the exhibition via a headset, picks up on the visually represented theme and spins it speculatively as a DreamGuide .

The drawings, prints and sculptures selected for DOOM SNOOZERS, some of which are newly created and drawn from various contexts, are united by a sometimes loving and humorous, sometimes ironically distanced exaggeration of the political, economic and ecological effects of the havoc we humans are wreaking on our planet.

The starting point for this exhibition is the installation TOWARDS HUMANITY! by Böhler & Orendt, which will be permanently accessible when the Spreepark opens in spring 2027. The model for the work is the occasion for one of the dream scenes in the exhibition.
