The Bonn Starry Sky events are offered as public face-to-face events. The events take place in the lecture hall of the Argelander Institute, Bonn -Endenich auf dem Hügel 71, on the specified date (see overview below) at 19:00.

Short-term changes to the dates and topics of the lectures cannot be ruled out. You can counter this by subscribing to the mailing list for notification of dates. Please send an e-mail to:

The event starts punctually at 19:00. After a short introduction, you can expect a generally understandable lecture on an astronomical topic (see above), followed by observation if the sky is clear. Alternatively, you can visit the collection of astronomical equipment. There will also be an opportunity to ask various astronomical questions.

We expressly point out that the observations at the telescope can only take place under absolutely cloudless skies!

The observation dome is unheated and open; appropriate clothing is recommended! Access to the observation dome is only possible via stairs and is therefore unfortunately not barrier-free for the disabled.

It is not necessary to register in advance, but you should be prepared for waiting times in front of the telescopes if there is a large crowd! We also ask you to arrive on time, as access to the institute cannot be guaranteed once the events have started!

Free admission, but a voluntary donation to support the event is welcome.

Public transportation

The "Immenburg Park" stop can be reached from the main railway station using lines 610 and 611. The Immenburgpark stop can also be reached from the Johanniterviertel, Bonn-Süd, Poppelsdorf, Dransdorf and Tannenbusch by bus line 631. The night line N9 can also be used for the return journey.

Please use public transportation, the university parking lot cannot be used. There is very limited parking available on the street!
