Jazz, salsa and Afro-Latin American rhythms at the King Georg Jazz Klub.
Twice a year, the King Georg Jazz Klub becomes the stage for an extraordinary musical fusion of jazz and Afro-Latin American rhythms.
Under the artistic direction of the young, talented multi-instrumentalists Reynel Ardiles Lindemann and Daniel Oetz Salcines, both born in 2000 and deeply rooted in the Latin American musical tradition, the series presents the soundtrack of the Afro-Latin American diaspora.
The evening begins with an acoustic formation presenting intimate and emotional sounds with boleros and habaneras. This opening set will be performed by Cologne duo Klaviba, who will bring the essence of the Cuban musical tradition to the stage with an acoustic setup.
Afterwards, Conjunto, Kölnjunto will take over the stage - an extraordinary project led by the young, talented Cologne artists Reynel Ardiles Lindemann and Daniel Oetz Salcines. Supported by international guest musicians, they promise an energetic and multi-faceted live program that captures the diversity of Latin jazz, salsa and mambo.the evenings at the King Georg Jazz Klub are intended to become a place where young talents regularly meet, exchange ideas and enrich the scene together.
Before and after the concerts, the DJ collective Frente Salsero provides the right atmosphere. The Salseros - an association of record collectors and cultural workers from the Cologne area - create an authentic attitude to life with their carefully curated selection of music. The sound system curated by Gabriel Riquelme, Christian Meier-Oehlke & Hermes Villena brings classics and rarities of salsa and other rhythms of the Afro-Latin American diaspora with records directly to the dance floor and creates an authentic atmosphere.
In cooperation with King Georg , specially curated cocktails will be offered to perfectly round off the flair of the event, while the atmospheric ambience and traditional surprises will turn the evening into a nostalgic journey through time.
