Boots Night: Rocksteady Got Soul mit Keith & Tex ft. Rudy Mills (JAM) with The Steadytones (D)

In the organizer's words:

Rocksteady legends Keith & Tex were first choice singers as teenagers at Chrystal Record in Kingston, Jamaica! Timeless classics such as "Stop That Train", "Long Story", "Leaving on That Train" and "John Jones", to name but a few, were created in this hit factory of the golden rocksteady era.

Rudy Mills' song "John Jones" was a hit in the skinhead subculture in England. The single for it was released in 1968 by Move & Groove and Crystal Records in Jamaica. A year later it was released on the Big Shot label of Trojan Records/B&C Records in the UK, which paved the way to the UK.

It was 2019 when, in well-deserved retirement, he was called by Keith. Rudy was to join Keith & Tex on tour. They had also found their way back to music and new success after decades of separation. So we have the opportunity to pay tribute to these extraordinary musicians.

An absolute must for all lovers of early reggae and soul! Wonderful melodies that promise goosebumps and a round trip through the rocksteady era.

The Steadytones, founded in Bavaria in 2010, are not only very successful as a backing band for the Jamaican legends of traditional ska, rocksteady and early reggae of the early years, but also have their own albums on the go. They have dedicated themselves to the unique, historic Jamaican 60s, which is clearly recognizable in a contemporary way.

Now the three legends and rocksteady pioneers are back on the road in Europe with the outstanding Steadytones, bringing this carefree era back to life.

We are overjoyed that they will also be stopping off in Bremen at Boots Night to give us a glamorous and unforgettable evening.
