Break the Silence

In the organizer's words:

Break the Silence is a multimedia exhibition that deals with sexualized violence, its effects and resistance in the form of empowerment. The focus is on empowerment, visibility and solidarity - especially for FLINTA* (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender people).

It will feature multimedia art by artists who share their perspectives on healing, anger, strength and collective care. The media of woodcut, stop motion, text and audio, painting and music can be seen in various formats in the exhibition.

There will be a vernissage and a finissage. The vernissage will open the exhibition with a 30-minute concert, followed by a champagne reception and a short opening speech. The finissage will end with a closing concert.

Trigger warning:

Some of the content shown in the exhibition may have a retraumatizing effect. These areas are marked. Please take care of yourself and your boundaries - A tea corner is available and the whole place is meant to be a safe space.

Awareness:

An awareness team will be present and approachable throughout the exhibition. We want people to treat each other with respect and solidarity. There is no place for discriminatory, abusive or transgressive behavior.

A donation is planned for the drinks you can buy at the exhibition on recommendation and a donation of 5-15 euros is planned for admission to the exhibition. You are of course welcome to give more. Part of the donation will go to the Wildwasser association, which campaigns against sexualized violence against girls and women.
