BREAKFAST TIPS

As a special tip for this market, we recommend @veradisantiago with her new creation: sweet empanadas! Empanadas are dumplings that can be filled with a wide variety of delicacies depending on their country of origin. For her sweet version, there are empanadas with fresh fruit, grated coconut and a dash of port wine. Of course, Vera also has her classics filled with chicken or vegetables!

Another specialty (and for the sleepy among you) is the finest, strong mocha coffee from Turkey. This is traditionally gently heated on hot sand in long-handled coffee pots called cezve. If you want to drink the coffee black, order it sade. If you prefer az şekerli (a little sweet), orta şekerli (medium sweet) or tam şekerli kahve (very sweet), add the appropriate amount of sugar. The whole thing is perfectly rounded off with a hearty gözleme - also available as a vegetarian option, of course.
