Summer, sun, heartbreak. Marge is dumped at the altar. So she heads off with her friend Lois on her pre-booked honeymoon. In the Catskill Mountains, a rather sad spectacle awaits them: the once thriving resort is on the verge of ruin. The hotel is dilapidated, water is dripping from the ceiling and guests are increasingly staying away. The glimmer of hope: a music producer has announced his intention to look for new talent. Del - entertainer and heartthrob - senses his chance of a record deal so that he can use the money to renovate the resort. Everyone pitches in. A race against time begins to spruce up the resort in time for the expected visit.

Neil Sedaka's (*1939) melodic and cheerful world-famous hits catapult us right into the summer feeling of the 60s. The authors Erik Jackson and Ben H. Winters have built a witty, sweet comedy around it that doesn't take itself too seriously.
