Four films by female filmmakers from the extended environment of the Sensory Ethnography Lab - including staff, lecturers and former students - shed light on the interweaving of documentation, fiction and power. Whether in a dialog between director and protagonist, as a collective attempt to remember, in the form of an elliptical love story or as a montage of two capitalist luxury fantasies: the films ask what stories we tell ourselves, what images we create of each other and what systems and structures they produce? In very different formal ways, the films deal with (self-)fictionalization, the ethnographic-documentary gaze, representation, intimacy and coloniality.
