In the organizer's words:

While the world outside seems chilly and harsh, WerkStadt invites you to an evening by candlelight in the PACT Foyer: On December 14 at 6:30 pm, there will be warm soup and participants will read letters to each other by candlelight.

These can be letters about feelings and places that move and connect, but also words full of love and anger, hope and longing, memories and sadness. They may be addressed to a distant city or sent from the Ruhr area, perhaps even from Katernberg. Every letter is welcome, whether from nine or 90-year-olds, whether it is the first letter or many have already been written.

Everyone is invited to share their stories, listen to the words of others and experience an evening full of warmth and connection together. Poet and author Esra Elmaci will lead the event. Through her writing, she has found her own access to the unspoken thoughts and feelings of life. She combines the letters she reads with conversations with the audience.
