BROKOF || Support: Drea and the Band

BROKOF

Fabian Brokof (vocals, guitar), Arne Bergner (guitar, piano, vocals), Rocco Weise (bass, vocals), Puya Shoary (drums, percussion) "Sorry Gilberto vs Brokof" (EP, 2007), was the first release on their own label Goldrausch Records, a split EP with their friends Sorry Gilberto. Another EP, "A/B", followed as a 10-inch vinyl and a little later the debut album "Softly, Softly, Catchee Monkey" (LP, 2010). Two years later came the critically acclaimed follow-up "Side By Side" (LP, 2012). "Eviction Notice" (EP, 2015) gave a preview of the upcoming third album and the band toured Europe with the EP as a bonus to the ticket. On "Cool Fame" (LP, 2016), ROLLING STONE heard: "ten songs, straightforward and beautiful" and recognized parallels to CSNY and The Who. For "Fore!" (LP, 2018), ROLLING STONE wrote: "...Again, you can hear how great Brokof play together and let arrangements
let arrangements breathe instead of cementing them..."

In April 2022, after a long creative break, the band went public with the single "Share". This was followed by further singles and videos such as "Only A Song", "The Load" and "Postcard Of Rome", before the Berlin band's fifth album, "Blind Spot On The Bright Side Of Life" (LP, 2024), was released.
"With a riff-country song like "Time & Space" or "Share", you're happy to drive into the unknown" wrote ROLLING STONE and SOUNDS AND BOOKS are certain: "Blind Spot On The Bright Side Of Life" certainly has what it takes to "endure for a long time - this album is a potential grower". In 2024, the band performed live in Europe and, for the first time, in the U.S. and will close the year with the five-song EP "Troublemaker", which will be released on December 13, 2024.

BROKOF is a four-piece alternative folk rock band from Berlin. On their debut album"Softly, Softly, Catchee Monkey" (LP, 2010), BROKOF play "indie pop with folk & noise in the style of Wilco to Velvet Underground" (BYTE FM) and "excel in the unpretentious discipline of taking things easy" (MOTOR).

The critically acclaimed second album "Side By Side" (LP, 2012) made the band accessible to a wider public, Joey Whirleypop from GLITTERHOUSE said the album sounds "classic and international, has the right role models (from Beatles to No Depression) and above all offers wonderful choral singing and polyphonic harmony vocals." WESTZEIT praised: "Folk-pop with dreamlike melodic arcs and always surprising hooks and eyes - which never lead to where the cliché would dictate".

With "Eviction Notice" (EP, 2015), BROKOF gave a first taste of their third studio album"Cool Fame" (LP, 2016) and toured Europe with the EP as a bonus for their fans. ROLLING STONE recognized parallels to CSNY and The Who and called the album "straightforward and beautiful".

In 2017, the band released "Brother Equal" (LP w/Random Willson, 2017), a collaboration with New York singer-songwriter Random Willson.

With "Fore!" (LP, 2018) was the band's fourth album. The ROLLING STONE wrote: "...yet another great record from Brokof: the quartet from Berlin plays its folk-rock more distorted and a little less romantic than before, but in a wonderfully fluctuating, open-ended way; the small form beats the big design, Jeff Tweedy-style. Again, you can hear how great Brokof play together and let arrangements breathe instead of cementing them."

Drea and the Band

"Drea and the Band" is a young band from Munich.

Their songs are honest, like diary entries, where Drea (vocals, songwriting, guitar) completely reveals her feelings. All this with beautiful and gentle indie-folk, pop melodies.

Drea Strumberger's songwriting and vocals are accompanied by a talented band; Marcell Biro who plays bass, Daniel He who plays magical guitar melodies, and Niklas Krause who gives the audience a tempo to dance to with the drums.
