BRUCE BARTH TRIO

A new collection of compositions designed to express a spirit of optimism, peace and unity, especially in the turbulent and chaotic times the world is experiencing. Bruce, Roz and Stephen believe that the positive energy, upbeat grooves and lyricism of their music will uplift and inspire their audience.

Jazz pianist and composer Bruce Barth has been sharing his music with audiences around the world for more than 35 years. Not only has he traveled extensively with his own music, but he has also performed with revered jazz masters and collaborated with leading musicians of his own generation. Bruce has performed on over 135 recordings and film scores, seventeen of them as a leader. As leader of his trio and larger ensembles, Bruce has performed in major concert halls throughout the United States, Europe and Japan.

Roz Macdonald is a double bass player from Ayr, Scotland, who has lived in Berlin for several years. She is known for her versatility and performs frequently in Germany and Europe and has made a name for herself both as a bandleader and as a sought-after accompanist. Roz has worked with many notable international artists including Chris Cheek, Bruce Barth, Scott Hamilton, Tracye Eileen and many more. In 2022 she released her debut album 'Make Do' with her own trio in Berlin and is currently composing and preparing to record a second album under her own name. Roz is equally at home in jazz as she is in classical, folk and pop music

Stephen Keogh played drums with the National Symphony Orchestra in his native Ireland and toured extensively with the great Irish guitarist Louis Stewart, as well as jazz greats such as Eddie Lockjaw Davis, Jimmy Witherspoon, Pepper Adams, Teddy Edwards, Benny Carter and James Moody. He left Ireland in the late 80s, joined the Peter King Quartet and has since worked with Bill Charlap, Charles McPherson, Art Farmer and Eddie Henderson. He has played with Johnny Griffin, Lee Konitz, Harold Land, Brad Mehldau, Mark Turner, Jerry Bergonzi, Deborah Brown, Herb Ellis, Benny Golson, Ronnie Scott and Jason Rebello.
