Asasello Quartet
For many connoisseurs and lovers of the string quartet, few other composers come close to the late quartets of Haydn and Beethoven. One of them is definitely Dmitri Shostakovich, for whom the string quartet was a lifelong companion. The international and award-winning Asasello Quartet invites you to an exciting and stimulating musical summit meeting between Haydn, Beethoven and Shostakovich. Haydn's 'Sunrise' Quartet is inspired by a unique orchestral sonority and depth. Shostakovich gave his 9th quartet to his third wife as a kind of love gift. Beethoven finally heralded a new era in music in 1826 with his bold String Quartet op. 130 - in which the four string instruments intermittently embark on a heavenly song without words in the 'Cavatina'.
