Brühler Schlosskonzerte: Dorothee Mields (Sopran) & G.A.P. Ensemble

Music critics are regularly beside themselves with enthusiasm for soprano Dorothee Mields: her singing has been described as 'unearthly perfection'. Yet she is not only an experience in the baroque repertoire, but in all eras. Now, together with the musicians of the G.A.P. Ensemble, she presents a bridge between the 18th and 20th centuries. The focus is on songs and chamber music by Joseph Haydn and Dmitri Shostakovich. To mark the 50th anniversary of the great Russian composer's death, his early piano trio and the moving 'Seven Romances' for soprano and piano trio have been selected. The original sound specialists from the G.A.P. Ensemble will play Haydn's famous Hungarian piano trio. Dorothee Mields then follows in the footsteps of Haydn, a fan of England, with hand-picked songs.
