Daniel Rothert (flute)
Camerata Augustina
Mónica Waisman (violin and conductor)
Until the early 18th century, the recorder was immensely popular in the opera city of Venice. After all, no other wind instrument seemed to come closer to human singing. The solo concertos that the Venetian Antonio Vivaldi composed for the alto and sopranino recorder range between virtuoso furioso and arioso beauty. Daniel Rothert, who is regarded as one of the leading recorder players, has selected three of his extraordinarily effective concerti. He will be accompanied by the Camerata Augustina, which made its acclaimed debut here in Brühl in 2024 as the 'little sister' of the Capella Augustina. Internationally acclaimed baroque violinist, chamber musician and ensemble founder Mónica Waisman will conduct. This inspiring baroque concert will be rounded off with chamber sonatas by the Italian traveler and Englishman-by-choice Handel.
