Brühler Schlosskonzerte: O/Modernt & Hugo Ticciati (Violine und Leitung)

Hugo Ticciati is a complete stranger to musical pigeonholing, which is why the acclaimed violinist and conductor does not believe there is such a thing as old or new music, only music that is worth listening to and music that is not. With the chamber orchestra 'O/Modernt' (Swedish for 'Un/Modern'), which he founded, he creates surprising cross-connections between yesterday and today and can be experienced not only conducting this first-class ensemble, but also on the violin. He plays the violin meditation 'Lonely Angel' by Peteris Vasks, in which the Latvian composer makes a distant reference to Haydn's opera 'L'Isola disabitata'. The Swede Albert Schnelzer, on the other hand, was inspired by Haydn's famous 'Farewell Symphony' for 'Aksak and Ciphers'. And finally, hovering over everything like a lonely planet: Beethoven's timelessly astonishing 'Great Fugue'.
